Overview

Gallo Ristorante di pesce is a refined seafood haven nestled in the heart of Rome, on V. Santa Croce in Gerusalemme. This intimate restaurant offers an authentic taste of Italian coastal cuisine, expertly crafted with the freshest catch from the sea. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, striking a perfect balance between elegant and approachable—ideal for those seeking a genuine, relaxed dining experience away from the bustling city center.

The menu highlights a thoughtful selection of dishes that showcase the depth and variety of seafood. Starters like the Antipasto Di Alici Con Cavolo E Nocciole and La Nostra Insalata Di Mare set the tone with fresh, vibrant flavors that awaken the palate. Their homemade Tagliolino con Pesci di Roccia and the rich Risotto Carnaroli con Assoluto di Crostacei reveal the chef’s skill in marrying texture and taste through traditional techniques and premium ingredients.

Among the main courses, the Frittura di Paranza offers a crispy medley of mixed fish that embodies simplicity and excellence. The catch of the day, prepared either alla cacciatora or with its own reduction and seasonal vegetables, is a testament to the kitchen’s respect for the sea’s bounty and the seasons. The Moscardino alla Catalana, with its tender, flavorful musk octopus, stands out for its regional inspiration and depth.

Patrons consistently praise the restaurant not only for the quality and freshness of its offerings but also for the attentive and friendly service. The presence of Lorenzo and Claudia in management adds a personal, thoughtful touch that elevates the overall experience. Their wine selection complements the dishes beautifully, featuring carefully curated regional labels and boutique producers that appeal both to casual lovers and discerning connoisseurs.

Gallo Ristorante di pesce appeals to seafood enthusiasts who appreciate authenticity and craft. Whether you're visiting Rome or a local craving the ocean’s flavors, this restaurant promises a memorable meal in a cozy, elegant setting without the crowds found in more tourist-heavy districts. Fresh food, great flavors, and honestly—dangerously good wine. I was already happily buzzing by the time the second dish arrived and completely forgot to take photos. That alone tells you how good the dinner was. The vibe is warm, the staff is professional without being stiff, and everything just feels easy and enjoyable. A place I’d come back to, for the food… and definitely for the wine.

An experience of the highest value to be recommended to all!!! From the beginning to the end everything is taken care of in the smallest details without leaving anything to chance. From the kitchen, where the sea is the main character, you can feel the freshness of the product that are developed to create something really unique and remarkable. I couldn’t decide which dish was the best. The love and knowledge that the chef puts into every dish is tangible. The wine list is varied and well structured, with smaller and very interesting productions, and the service was impeccable, with attention to us that you do not always see in the restaurants. I recommend you to visit Lorenzo and Claudia because they really deserve your visit, and you will come back too

Really amazing food with a special plus for the spaghetti vongole e bottarga (one of my favourite dishes and one of the best I’ve ever eaten, couldn’t take a picture I was too excited to eat it.) thanks chef(s) it was amazing, Service was even better, Valerio and Claudia are the best, professional and friendly. Go there eyes closed. The plus is that it’s not in the popular areas at night and therefore there is NO LINE :).

My partner booked this place as she saw the great reviews since it opened earlier on this year and we really enjoyed it. Firstly, the server was attentive, knowledgeable and super friendly, as was the owner (and head chef), who greeted us on arrival and came to speak to us after we had finished our meal. Onto the food - the speciality bread was incredibly crunchy on the outside and soft inside, whilst both pasta dishes were super tasty. We shared a mixed grill with some veggies to finish and whilst delicious, we felt maybe it was slightly on the small side - that said, this was possibly because the cuts were premium ones (swordfish, squid and bream), so it’s not a complaint, just an FYI. Overall, a hugely positive experience - we hope to return when back in Rome another time.

Delicious, creative cuisine: from the home made tagliolino with perfectly balanced lemon flavoured sauce to the tender pesce grilliata in olive oil and herbs - with love to every detail like the tasty home made bread - crunshy outside, smooth and warm inside. The Chef takes perfect care of his guests in person, the staff is super friendly, attentive and competent. A new restaurant we would recommend to anyone who loves modern fish cuisine, created with passion.
